On Sunday, 17 September 2023, between 10.00 and 17.00, Bánffy Castle, Bonțida, will open its gates once again for the Bánffy Day organised by Transylvania Trust.
The programme includes guided tours in Hungarian and Romanian, children’s activities, an organ concert by Noémi Miklós, an exhibition containing the works of Nicolette Bánffy-Jelen, granddaughter to Miklós Bánffy, and the screening of the film A maga természete szerint és szabadon (Free Spirit, Hungarian film with Romanian subtitles).
During the event, visitors will also be able to explore the exhibition titled The Force Fields of Miklós Bánffy, located in the newly restored Neogothic wing of the Main Building, opened on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Count Miklós Bánffy’s birthyear.

10.00 – 17.00 Exhibitions:
• The Force Fields of Miklós Bánffy – the main building’s western wing (max. 10 visitors at the same time)
• Experience Room – the kitchen block’s tower (max. 5 visitors at the same time)
11.00 – 14.00 Children’s programmes: gingerbread decoration, board games (giant chess, jenga, badminton etc.), pottery, furniture painting – courtyard
11.00 Guided tour in Romanian – starting from the gate
12.00 Exhibition opening: “Enchanted Moments” – illustration of Miklós Bánffy’s short stories by his granddaughter, Nicolette Bánffy-Jelen, paper cutout sculptures – main building
The exhibition opening will include the presentation of the Transylvania Trust’s Patron Award.
13.00 Guided tour in Hungarian – starting from the gate
14.00 Organ on Wheels, organ concert by Noémi Miklós, university lecturer and organist – courtyard (in case of rain, main building)
15.00 Film screening and discussion: A maga természete szerint és szabadon (Free Spirit, Hungarian film with Romanian subtitles, created with the support of the National Film Institute of Hungary) – stables
