On Sunday, 22 September 2024, between 11.00 and 17.00, Bánffy Castle, Bonțida, will open its gates once again for the Bánffy Day organised by the Transylvania Trust Foundation.
Our event pays homage to Countess Katalin Bánffy, who celebrated her 100th birthday this year. On this occasion, we are organising a round table discussion with her daughters Elisabeth and Nicolette, as well as with Zsuzsa Szebeni, head of the Liszt Institute in Sfântu Gheorghe. The discussion will be moderated by Csilla Hegedüs, president of the Transylvania Trust Foundation.
The programme will also include guided tours in Hungarian and Romanian, exhibitions on the past and present of the castle and the Bánffy family, children’s activities, a demonstration of traditional building crafts, a local producers’ fair as well as an exceptional organ concert by Noémi Miklós, who will play film music accompanied by a projection.
During the event, visitors will also be able to explore the Miklós Bánffy’s Force Fields exhibition located in the renovated Neogothic wing of the Main Building, opened on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Count Miklós Bánffy’s birthyear.
